Energy Performance Consulting
With numerous years of experience in the green building industry, BlueShift offers a wide range of consultation services in energy performance. We are experienced in energy modelling, Net-Zero Energy, Zero Carbon Building, Passive Haus, and Ground Source Heat Pump.
Energy Modelling Energy Modelling is the process of building a digital model of energy systems which make up a building. Performing Energy Modelling enables users to generate related analysis required to make perhaps design related decisions. This allows for a variety of technical scenarios which enable more energy efficient or cost efficient solutions for projects.
Net-Zero Energy Net Zero Energy is a building with a zero net energy consumption thus suggesting the total amount of energy used by the building on an annual basis is equal to the amount of energy generated by the building through energy efficient systems.
Zero Carbon Building Net zero carbon is when the amount of carbon dioxide emissions released on an annual basis is zero or negative. Our definition for a net zero carbon building is a highly energy efficient building that is fully powered from on-site and/or off-site renewable energy sources and offsets.Passive Haus
Ground Source Heat Pump A ground-source heat pump uses the earth or ground water or both as the sources of heat in the winter, and as the “sink” for heat removed from the home in the summer. For this reason, ground-source heat pump systems have come to be known as earth-energy systems (EESs). Heat is removed from the earth by using a liquid, such as ground water or an antifreeze solution; the liquid’s temperature is raised by the heat pump; and the heat is transferred to indoor air. During summer months, the process is reversed: heat is taken from indoor air and transferred to the earth by the ground water or antifreeze solution. A direct-expansion (DX) earth-energy system uses refrigerant in the ground-heat exchanger, instead of an antifreeze solution.
